LIS - Low Income Subsidy to Medicare:
This Federal program helps seniors or Medicare beneficiaries get prescription Medicines at a very reduced price. The LIS may also pay some or all of your Part D drug plan premiums.
QMB - Qualified Medicare Beneficiary:
This State program may pay for some or all of your Medicare Part B premiums if you qualify. Most people under certain income levels are paying around $124.00 per month for Part B premiums. If you qualify for this program it could mean substantial savings annually. If you qualify for this program financially you automatically qualify for the LIS mentioned above but won't automatically be signed up for the benefit.
